The long-awaited day for Final Fantasy fans is here! Because as of today, 12 June 2023, players can embark into the realm of Final Fantasy 16 Demo. In this article, we are going to talk about how to play, along with the start time, and what platforms are available! Let’s get into it!
What is Final Fantasy 16 Demo?
Final Fantasy 16 is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. This game is the sixteenth main installment in the Final Fantasy series. For the main game itself, it is announced that FF 16 will be released and ready to play on June 22nd.
To re-ignite the eagerness and curiosity of fams, Square Enix provides the demo to be played pre-launch. With the demo, gamers can launch Final Fantasy 16 and play the prologue:
- Square Enix revealed that the demo will have more than two hours of gameplay.
- The demo appears to be bringing players to Clive Rosfield’s early years in Final Fantasy 16 prologue.
- The catch is, should they want to purchase the main game, their progress will transfer over and they can continue exploring Valisthea’s continent after the initial game release.
The action combat of Clive with additional Eikonic skills can be experienced in a special battle demo after the prologue content has been cleared.
FF 16 Demo release date and start time
Final Fantasy 16 Demo is set to be released and available to play today, 12 June 2023, beginning at 4:00 a.m. ET in the United States. For countries outside of the US, here is the global start time:
- London, 9:00 a.m BST, 12th June
- Berlin, 10:00 a.m CEST, 12th June
- Brazil, 5:00 a.m BRT, 12th June
- Hong Kong, 4:00 p.m HKT, 12th June
- Tokyo, 5:00 p.m JST, 12th June
- Sydney, 6:00 p.m AEST, 12th June
- Wellington, 8:00 p.m NZST, 12th June
What platform to play Final Fantasy 16 Demo
For the time being, Final Fantasy 16 Demo and the full game itself will only be available for PlayStation 5.
- The trailer states that Final Fantasy 16 is a PlayStation 5 exclusive, which obviously means PS5 will be the only platform to play on.
- However, the game will release on other platforms six months after its initial launch.
- Square Enix hints to other platform users that they could also enjoy the game in the near future. With the text “Not available on other formats until at least 12/31/2023.” in the trailer.
While the hint in the trailer gives hope to players who are not using PS5, PC users on the other hand, actually got a bit of a bitter announcement.
“It is true that FINAL FANTASY XVI is a six-month limited-time exclusive on the PS5 platform. However, it is a completely different story that the PC version will be released in half a year. I will make it clear, but the PC version will not come out in half a year,” said Naoki Yoshida, FF 16 producer on PlayStation’s Japanese blog.
With this revelation, there’s a high chance that FF 16 will come out to PC at an earlier date. Hopefully, players on this platform will only have to wait a few weeks or a month for the game to come.
