Baizhu is releasing in Genshin Impact 3.6 along with a new 4-star character

It was a long time coming since we first met Baizhu in the earlier parts of the game’s main story. After his appearance and introduction as the owner of Bubu Pharmacy, a lot of Travelers wondered when he would become playable. When HoYoverse finally announced that Baizhu is becoming playable in Genshin Impact 3.6, a lot of Travelers expressed their excitement.

Not only are we getting Baizhu in the 3.6 update, but another Genshin Impact character Travelers want to pull for is releasing with his banner. Kaveh, a 4-star Dendro character, will also be part of the banners in the next update. They will both be available in the second phase of Genshin Impact 3.6.

Should you pull for Baizhu?

Now that we have that out of the way, it all comes down to one question: should Travelers spend their Primogems and pull for Baizhu in Genshin Impact 3.6? As we all know, Primogems are really hard to get in the game. That is, if you don’t have the funds or patience to participate in limited-time events to earn Primogems as rewards.

Before we take a look at all the pros and cons of using Baizhu, we’d like to inform readers that he is actually very F2P friendly. If you have been looking to pull for a character that doesn’t require you to spend any real-life money, then Baizhu’s your guy. Other than that, here are the other pros and cons of pulling for him in Genshin Impact 3.6.

Pros

The top reason why it’s a good idea to pull for Baizhu is because he’s friendly for F2P players. To get the optimal build for his character, you don’t have to pull for constellations or anything. All you need to do is forge the Prototype Amber at a Blacksmith and then you have one of the BiS weapons for Baizhu!

Other than that, here are some of the reasons why it may be a good idea to pull for Baizhu:

  • You need a good Support or Healer on your team. Baizhu specializes in healing his teammates, so it’s a good idea to pull for him once his banner goes live if you don’t have a viable healer yet. Not only that, but he can also create a shield that restores itself over time. Aside from healing, he protects your units in battle as well.
  • He will work great on Dendro teams. Since he is a Dendro 5-star, it’s best if you pair him up with other Dendro characters. Some of the characters you can have on a team with Baizhu are Nahida and Tighnari. To fully maximize the Dendro resonance, it’s best if you use an all-Dendro team.
  • He’s a good Dendro unit overall. Given Baizhu’s skills, there’s no denying that he can apply Dendro reactions quickly and easily. If you like working with Dendro reactions, then consider pulling for Baizhu.

Cons

We’ve already listed some of the major benefits you’ll get if you do decide to pull for Baizhu. Now that they’re out of the way, let’s talk about why you should think twice before deciding to pull for him.

  • Baizhu’s AoE is quite underwhelming. This has always been one of the problems with his character ever since his kit got leaked. Now that those leaks have been confirmed, HoYoverse hasn’t improved the AoE on his Dendro application.
  • If you’re looking for a more offensive character, then you should pass on pulling for this 5-star. This is because Baizhu’s kit is more geared towards defending and protecting your active party.
  • For those planning on using Baizhu as one of your damage dealers, you need to pull for him until you get him to C2. When he has these Constellations, that’s the only time you can get impressive DMG numbers from him.

Final verdict

Those are the top pros cons we can think of before you should pull for Baizhu. If you are able to work around these cons, then it’s best if you think twice before skipping on his banner altogether. Baizhu is an impressive Dendro support character who is also a bit low maintenance.

Since he is F2P friendly, our honest opinion on whether or not you should pull for Baizhu in Gensin Impact 3.6 is yes, pull for him… but only if you’re not saving up for future characters.

  • HoYoverse has been focusing more on tweaking and improving Dendro reactions in the past update. If you are the type of Traveler who prioritizes meta over anything else, then Baizhu is a great unit to have in your team.

  • Not to mention that if you pull for Baizhu, then you’re essentially pulling for Kaveh as well. New characters are usually exciting to get in Genshin Impact, and we don’t know when Baizhu will get his rerun!
  • However, Nahida is already getting her rerun before Baizhu’s banner goes live. If you really want an all-out Dendro support, then you may want to consider pulling for her instead of Baizhu. But if you’re not too lucky in pulling for the Dendro Archon, then it’s time to spend your Primogems on another Dendro support like Baizhu.
