Crackdown 3 is Delayed; Coming Out Next Year

Among many other famous upcoming titles, Crackdown 3 was also a much awaited classic by Microsoft for both Xbox One and PC. Well, if you are just like us, waiting to get your hands on this upcoming beauty in November 2017, we are sad to inform you that the release of Crackdown 3 is delayed as confirmed by Microsoft today and it is no longer scheduled to release on 7th November this year. Instead of coming this year, the Crackdown 3 official release has been postponed to Spring of 2018 which means you have plenty of time to wait for this title now.

As a sequel to Crackdown 2 being released in 2010, the third chapter of the videogame series was confirmed to be released on November 7 by Microsoft. However, in a recent statement to Polygon, the Microsoft Studio GM, Shannon Loftis said that they are delaying the release of the Crackdown 3. He mentioned in a interview email to Polygon that –

“We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and it’s difficult call to move the release date. However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time. Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.”

After three years on being announced at E3 2014, the game was expected to release in the second half of 2016 but things didn’t go as planned and the release was postponed for almost an year. And now being postponed for yet another time, we may assume that the game still have some improvements and we may end up having indeed a classic once Crackdown 3 officially releases.

“Crackdown 3 is an incredibly ambitious project that pushes the technological envelope with immersive true 4K gameplay, cloud-computing competitive multiplayer and a sprawling and futuristic open world,” Loftis said when asked about the challenges the development teams have faced over the years. “The team has been working extremely hard to deliver a great experience for fans and this extra time will help us do just that.”

According to some experts and critics, one of the main reasons behind the delay in the release can be because of its poor visual presentation as it was criticized at E3 2017 June.

“What we showed at E3 was a preview of the game, and is a great indicator of the level of mayhem and vertical plat forming action you can expect from Crackdown 3,” Loftis said. “Among other items, we are taking the extra time to focus on the visual polish so gamers can feel completely immersed in a living world. We want them to really feel the larger-than life enemies as they’re exploring the expansive open world, combating crime and collecting orbs.”
