The fictional world of the Dutton family continues to expand with the coming of 1923 Season 2. After a successful first season, Paramount+ announced the return of Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford as Cara and Jacob to tell the story of the early Dutton generations as they established their roots in West America. When will 1923 Season 2 be Released?
So far, there are no words yet on when 1923 Season 2 will be released, and there may be no announcements about it happening anytime soon. But considering the first season’s filming happened pretty fast, starting in August 2022 and officially releasing in December 2022, the second season may follow suit.
If a resolution has finally been reached and the writers’ strikes end this year, there may be a good chance that 1923 Season 2 will see the light of day late next year. But fans should only take this assumption with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed yet.
What will happen in 1923’s upcoming season?
Though details about the second season are kept locked and key, the first season’s conclusion has given fans an idea of what may happen next. Season 1 ended with a fight between Hank and Teonna. Though Teonna survived the battle, it remains to be seen if she can try to avoid the people looking for her.
Aside from these two, Spencer and Alex’s love story also encountered an unfortunate event after they met the latter’s former fiancé, Arthur, and his family onboard the ship. This resulted in a brawl between Arthur and Spencer and ended up in the former’s death. As they’re about to make their way to Yellowstone, will they reunite again in 1923, Season 2?
Of course, fans will continuously see how Whitfield will try to tear down Jacob and Cara as much as he can. And knowing the Duttons have a lot of enemies around, more may be seen in the second season.

Is 1923 Season 2 Already in Production?
1923 Season 2 was supposed to start its production in June 2023. However, like several TV shows and movies today, the filming had to be canceled due to the ongoing writers’ strike. Unfortunately, it was delayed indefinitely.
- Also, there are no words for how much of the second season’s scripts are done. But even if it’s complete, the cameras can’t start rolling yet.
KXLF also noted that the show would no longer use the Butte Civic Center in Butte, Montana, as its soundstage for the second season due to production delays. That said, the series must look for a new filming location, which may delay the production even more.
