MrBeast 7-day burial stunt

When it comes to YouTube, no other content creator pushes the boundaries of entertainment as much as Jimmy Donaldson, better known as the prolific MrBeast. With 212 million subscribers to his name, the YouTuber has often left fans wondering what he could possibly do next that outweighs all his previous daring stunts. This time, he raised the stakes to an all-time high as he buried himself underground for seven days to break the world record. However, there is some speculation online that the stunt was staged. Let’s take a look at it in detail.

Reddit thread on MrBeast, explained

While the video of the 7-day burial stunt by MrBeast has garnered over 75 million views in just 4 days, it has also drawn some controversy. Usually, the YouTuber faces flak for his ‘kindness’ stunts where he donates money or goods to people which some believe is a form of exploiting someone’s needs for views.

This time, MrBeast has been accused of staging the whole burial video – well, not exactly. The controversy has stemmed from a sarcastic Reddit thread which claims that the YouTuber had somehow faked the whole challenge in an attempt to gain more views.

The thread featured a diagrammatic representation that supposedly exposed the staging of the stunt. However, upon closer examination, the sketch turned out to be a layout of Saddam Hussein’s alleged hiding place, which had become a viral meme at one point.

Despite this revelation, some viewers began questioning the authenticity of MrBeast’s burial stunt on social media. The accusations ranged from staged dirt to doubts about the safety precautions taken during the process. Some argued that it would be both unsafe and unreasonable not to have instant easy access to him in case of an emergency.

The YouTuber’s 7-day burial stunt video

For his latest video titled “I Spent 7 Days Buried Alive”, MrBeast drew parallels to Uma Thurman’s character from Kill Bill as he went underground in a transparent coffin, loaded with food and water. The coffin had cameras installed to record his experience as well as monitor his safety.

After the coffin was lowered, over 20,000 pounds of dirt were dumped on it to seal MrBeast beneath the surface. While safety standards were spot-on, the stunt did take a toll on MrBeast’s mental health. In the video, the YouTuber cried multiple times from feeling claustrophobic in such a tightly enclosed space.

Furthermore, there were also concerns that he might have had potential blood clots in his legs from lying in a confined space for an extended period. The YouTuber managed to break the previous record set by himself when he was buried alive for 50 hours in 2021.
