Who is Mina Sundwall?
This character had players fall in love with her the minute she appeared in the game. At first, the whole God of War: Ragnarok community was pretty sure Thor’s daughter wouldn’t have an essential role in the game. However, it was wise for Santa Monica Studio to include Thrud’s character as she provided a more in-depth look at what kind of father Thor is.
- Mina Sundwall is an American actress born in New York City on October 23, 2001. Her television debut was in 2012 in an episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories. Two years later, Sundwall scored a role in Law & Order: SVU for one episode. After that, she had minor roles in a few other dramas and even a horror flick.
- Sundwall’s big break came when she played the role of Penny Robinson in the Netflix series Lost in Space. The show lasted three seasons, enough for Sundwall to start making a name for herself in the entertainment industry. As Penny Robinson, she was part of the show’s main cast, and many viewers praised her acting abilities.
She is the voice of Thrud in God of War: Ragnarok
Mina Sundwall’s first time taking part in a video game project is God of War: Ragnarok. She brought life to Thrud’s character with her impeccable voice acting. Throughout the game, we see Thrud experiencing both highs and lows as she struggles to deal with her family problems while wanting to prove herself worthy of being a Valkyrie.

- At first, Thrud hesitates to befriend Atreus after what happened with her brothers. Her mother, Sif, also disapproves of her being close to Atreus since she knows he will betray them once he gets what he wants from Odin and Asgard.
- Despite her being wary of Atreus, Thrud manages to start a friendship with him. During their journey to find the final mask fragment in Helheim, Atreus encourages Thrud not to give up on her dreams of becoming a Valkyrie. They also work together to traverse the mysterious realm and come across Garm, the Hel-Hound. Although they make the foolish decision of setting Garm free from his shackles, it still manages to solidify the bond and trust between Atreus and Thrud.
- After the events of Ragnarok, players can run into Thrud in Alfheim. It appears she now wields the Mjolnir, and with her mother’s approval, she sets out on a journey all by herself.
- Many players loved Thrud’s character in God of War: Ragnarok, and we’d like to believe Mina Sundwall’s performance played a huge part in this. She was able to give justice to Thrud’s character with her stellar voice acting.
