DC has revealed the first look at Superman’s latest project, indicating that 2023 will be a significant year for the superhero. My Adventures with Superman, an animated series featuring Clark Kent in his twenties, has received its first teaser trailer. The show will follow a coming-of-age style story and will showcase Superman voiced by Jack Quad (The Boys), with Alice Lee portraying Lois Lane and Ishmael Sahid providing the voice for Jimmy Olsen.

The Boys’ Jack Quad has notably become one of the prominent figures in an anti-superhero [namely, the Boys (Yeyi yeyi yeah got a feeling in my bones! – ahem) ]fan following. The clip showcases Superman leaping into action, responding to a looming supervillain threat, and demonstrating his trademark quick transformation from mild-mannered journalist Clark Kent to the formidable Man of Steel.

Upon the series’ green light, Amy Friedman, Head of Kids & Family Programming at Warner Bros., commented on Superman’s enduring appeal: “Superman has retained his position as one of the most revered and cherished superheroes worldwide.”
“This new interpretation from the Warner Bros. Animation team brings forth a contemporary, relatable Clark Kent, together with a fearless and intelligent Lois Lane, who are juggling the challenges of growing up while also attempting to safeguard the world.“
A romantic development for a Superman story
The clip wastes no time as Superman quickly swoops in, astonishing passersby. In a flash, we catch a glimpse of the revamped versions of Lois and Jimmy as they frantically evacuate panicked civilians from a building rapidly encased in ice.
Before any harm can befall them, Superman heroically intervenes, halting the villain in his tracks. The animation is visually stunning, featuring dynamic shots of debris hurtling through the air and of Superman gracefully engaging in battle. After ensuring the safety of his companions, the trailer concludes with an iconic scene of Clark dashing toward the camera and dramatically tearing away his suit to reveal the S emblem underneath.

The trailer incorporates contemporary animation with a classic Superman style, and the series will air on Adult Swim and HBO Max later this summer.
