- According to the reports of Deadline, Emma Mackey is moving on from Netflix’s Sex Education. She was playing the role of Maeve Wiley in the series. When prompted by RadioTimes about what’s in store for Maeve in future seasons, the actor relented her intentions to bid farewell to her onscreen character.
- She expresses surprise over the question noting it’s been just a week since she wrap up shooting for Season 4. “No, I don’t think I’ll be in the next season of Sex Education. I’ve already said goodbye to Maeve.” Deadline also notes that Emma will have a less prominent role in the fourth season, which adds to her decision of graduating from the show.

There is no official disclosure of the reasons behind Mackey’s decision. However, she did share her feelings toward her role ahead of Season 4. She finds her role less significant among the large star cast and her screen space isn’t consistent.
