Poppy Playtime Chapter 3: Is codename Kangaroo, Boxy Boo? – Villain or Friendly?

Poppy Playtime Codename Kangaroo

Fans of Poppy Playtime have been on their seats for a long time since Chapter 2. The third installment in this beloved game franchise, Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 has been long awaited by its players and everyone can’t wait any longer. Meanwhile, there have been lots of leaks, rumors, and speculations about Chapter 3 which is making the fans more excited. One leak is a code from Project: Playtime, an unknown character that no one has heard of or seen before – Kangaroo. Let’s discuss this new leak below and find out if Kangaroo is the code equivalent of one of the playable characters in Project: Playtime, Boxy Boo.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Rumor: Codename Kangaroo

One avid Poppy Playtime fan and leaker JustNatan shared a screenshot of what he found in Project: Playtime codes that created a buzz on the internet. A code for an unknown character called “Kangaroo” was included in Project: Playtime characters alongside The Player, Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, Bunzo Bunny, and PJ Pug-A-Pillar.

Project: Playtime was released last December 22 and only featured The Player, Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, and Boxy Boo. Although PJ and Bunzo haven’t made their appearance in the game, the most intriguing revelation here is the code for “Kangaroo”. This just suggests another character we may have known or is something we are yet to see. Will it be in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3? Well, nobody knows for sure.

Why do some people think that Codename Kangaroo is Boxy Boo?

Boxy Boo is a jack-in-the-box monster that can open up, revealing clawed arms and feet attached to springy limbs. Boxy also happens to be one of the antagonists in Project: Playtime, alongside Huggy and Mommy.

  • Many believe that the leaked Project: Playtime code “Kangaroo” is referring to Boxy Boo since it was a character in the game.
  • Boxy’s kangaroo-like abilities allow it to have a spring-loaded jump due to its springy limbs. Meaning, it could pounce and leap at you unexpectedly for that extreme jump scare.
  • Plus, Boxy Boo was missing from the list of codes which is already weird enough since Boxy is a Project: Playtime playable character.

Some also think that Kangaroo is an all-new character, a new villain of some sort. On the other hand, PJ and Bunzo are written in the codes which could mean they are either going to be added as cosmetics/skins or they will be the new playable characters. Again these are just speculations thus we’re going to have to take this with a grain of salt.

Is Boxy Boo a Villain or a Friend?

Rumor has it that Boxy Boo will appear in the upcoming Poppy Playtime Chapter 3. Although it made its in-play appearance on Project: Playtime, Boxy was already teased in previous segments.

Given that there has been a long development time for the character, it makes sense that they want to maximize its appearance. The best way to do that is by making it a villain in Chapter 3. Obviously, Boxy Boo isn’t a benevolent entity in the Poppy universe, unlike Kissy Missy. We just have to expect to be eaten by those razor-sharp teeth anytime soon.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 release date update

According to a leaker with the handle @JustNatan__, Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 will be released on September 7, 2023. However, this was proven to be an April Fool’s joke.

There have been countless rumors that it will come out in February, March, April, and July this year, but MOB games never confirmed anything. Chapter 1 came out in October 2021 while Chapter 2 was released on May 2022. That is just a seven-month gap between the first two chapters’ release. But, as informed, Chapter 3 will be three times as long as the second one. This means it will take more time than usual for MOB games to finalize everything.
