- Lyney is a bow wielder who relies on his charged shots for massive elemental (Pyro) damage. These charged attacks summon a Grin-Malkin Hat that taunts and explodes, dealing further damage to enemies.
- Upon arrival, the Hat depletes 40% (20%+20%) of Lyney’s health. However, his elemental skill can restore health with each usage. But it is also crucial to remember that the skill has a 15-second cooldown period. As a result, it is important to have a healer within the party.
- Lyney is a powerful DPS choice with an extraordinary capacity for damage. However, his potency will be drastically reduced when pitted against adversaries with Pyro resistance.
Recommended Stat Priority
Lyney’s build priority should be in the following order:
- ATK% – Firstly, try to gain the maximum attack percentage from your artifact sets. This is going to count toward your total damage output.
- Pyro DMG – The Pyro damage should be a main stat in one of your artifacts. The charged shots will deal elemental damage along with the elemental skill and burst. Therefore, it is a good idea to enhance this particular perk.
- Crit Rate/Crit DMG – The Critical Hits are a good way to crank up those damage numbers. Based on the sub-stats or weapon stats, choose to invest either in the crit rate or crit damage while maintaining a 1:2 ratio for the optimum result.
- Sub stats – As for the sub stats, look to boost your crit damage and crit rate to the highest numbers possible. Afterward, you can focus on the ER for the Burst attack or the ATK%. DEF and HP should hold the least priority, but they too can be useful.

1. The First Great Magic
- It is a no-brainer that the character’s signature weapon is going to be the best choice for him. The five-star bow provides 608 Base ATK alongside a crucial 66.2% Crit DMG when upgraded to Level 90. Its Refinement perk (Rank 1) provides an additional 16% boost to the charged attacks.
- It increases the attack percentage by 16%, 32%, or 48% for every member with the same elemental power in the group as its wielder. While on the other hand, it gives a movement SPD boost of 4%, 7%, or 10%, depending on the number of party members with a different elemental power than the wielder.
2. Aqua Simulacra
- Another 5-star bow on the list; you can use this if you have it in your arsenal. While its Base ATK is slightly lower at 542 on the max level, it provides a humungous 88.2% Crit DMG at the same time.
- From the Refinement perk (Rank 1), you will gain 16% higher health while around opponents. This could make up for the health lost due to the Grin-Malkin Hat. You will also avail 20% damage increase with this weapon.
3. Song of Stillness
- Coming to the 4-star options, this craftable bow will be an appropriate choice for Lyney. It will provide a nice Base ATK of 510 at max level, yielding 41.3% more ATK.
- As Lyney’s health bar will go through a constant depletion and healing cycle, the weapon’s Refinement ability will perfectly capitalize on that. At Refinement Rank 1, he will gain a 16% DMG boost for 8 seconds after he heals.
- You should aim to upgrade this DMG percentage by refining the bow to Level 5.
4. Prototype Crescent
- Like the one mentioned before, the Prototype Crescent is a forgeable 4-star bow. You can use it for dealing 510 Base ATK at Level 90 while getting a maximum of 41.3% additional damage.
- It is especially useful against enemies with weak points. Its Refinement ability (Rank 1) provides the character with 10% Movement SPD and 36% ATK for a duration of 10 seconds after the charged attack penetrates the weak point.
Best Artifacts
4-Piece Marechaussee Hunter
2-Piece Bonus: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%.
4-Piece Bonus: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks.
- This artifact set is tailor-made for Lyney. Unfortunately, you will unlock it only after arriving in Fontaine. You will also need to farm tediously for this newly released set.
- It will greatly boost the overall damage numbers with its designated abilities.
4-Piece Lavawalker
2-Piece Bonus: Pyro RES increased by 40%.
4-Piece Bonus: Increases DMG against opponents affected by Pyro by 35%.
- For a Pyro DPS like Lyney, the 4-Piece Lavawalker is an efficient set of artifacts. Along with the Pyro resistance, you will also get an overall DMG boost of 35% against adversaries inflicted with the Pyro element.
Team Comp
3 Pyro + 1 Anemo
- Lyney requires a Mono-Pyro team to truly reach his potential. As a result, you should remember to include two more Pyro characters in the team. For the last one, you can choose any Anemo character to charge up the entire Pyro DMG by a mile.
- Benett should be an indispensable member of the group as his Elemental Burst not only provides an enormous ATK buff but also fulfills the crucial role of a healer. The other 2 characters can be based on your choice.
3 Pyro + 1 Shielder
