It’s time for Naruto fans to gear up as they’ve got a lot to catch up with this year. Naruto is returning to fans and in multiple forms at that! The 20th-anniversary celebration is grand and marks the return of Masashi Kishimoto, the return of original Naruto anime, and Boruto manga.
What’s up with all these returns? When will you get to see them? What are they about? Worry not! We’ve put together everything here in one place so that you stay fully informed.
Naruto’s return will be happening in three different formats this year.
- With the return of the Boruto manga.
- Minato one-shot titled ‘Naruto Gaiden: Uzu no Naka no Tsumujikaze’.
- And finally the return of the original Naruto anime.
Boruto Manga returns
With the release of Chapter 80 on April 20, the Boruto manga went on a hiatus. The purpose of the hiatus was to prepare for the upcoming events in the manga. With the anime also ending, this hiatus brought a lot of uncertainty along.
But no more uncertainties! As the manga will return in August. Chapter 81 will drop on August 20. The last chapter dropped some mind-blowing details and they will carry on when the next chapter drops. So have Boruto return to your reading lists on Sundays!
Naruto Gaiden: Uzu no Naka no Tsumujikaze
Masashi Kishimoto is returning after about 7 years to give us a one-shot manga on Minato. The one-shot will feature in the 55th-anniversary issue of Shounen Jump. It’ll be a prequel to the original Naruto series. The one-shot will be available for fans on July 18th.
A popularity poll was live for the worldwide fans of Naruto from December 2022 to January 2023, titled NARUTOP99. Minato secured the first position in this popularity poll.
New Naruto anime
Believe it or not (or dattebayo or not), we’ll get to see the original Naruto anime return later this year. As a part of the 20th-anniversary celebration, 4 Episodes will return to fans. The content of these episodes is not revealed yet. Studio Pierrot has taken some strides in terms of animation quality. It’ll be a delight to see how they incorporate the changes into the Naruto anime.
The return of the Naruto anime also makes it possible for the big three to air again at the same time after so many years. It’s a short return but a sweet one.
Conclusion
A 20th-anniversary celebration couldn’t be more grand. No one would’ve expected the return of Masashi Kishimoto or the original anime after years. But I guess the fans have Dattebayo-ed their way through the decades, keeping the fandom strong and worthy of these grand gestures by the creators.
