The identity of the Arkansas woman who filmed the tornado for TikTok has been revealed to be Kimberly Shaw. Luckily, she is alive to tell the story herself. According to reports, the tornado had traveled over 32 miles around Little Rock, Arkansas, causing destruction to life and property. The video of the tornado has been viewed over millions of times on various platforms.

Kimberly Shaw captured on her phone what appeared to be a tornado in the distance from inside a dentist’s office on Cantrell Road on Friday. While watching the storm, the wind suddenly started opening the door, causing Shaw to fear that they would be sucked out.

Suddenly, the windows behind them blew out, and Shaw was nearly sucked out herself. Fortunately, her husband was able to grab hold of her and pull her back inside, saving her life.

The Arkansas woman recalls debris flying around them. Her husband held onto her, saving her from the tornado. In light of the incident, she wants to remind people that it’s crucial to take tornadoes seriously and to seek safe shelter during such storms.

Damage to life and property caused by the tornado

Dozens of tornadoes hit the US state of Arkansas, leaving at least 26 people dead. Four people died in the small town of Wynne and one woman in Madison County. Little Rock, the state’s capital, was also hit, with one person killed and over 2,600 buildings in the path of the storms.

The natural disaster left 50 people injured, some critically. The National Weather Service is yet to assess all the tornadoes. However, the Little Rock one is classified as an EF-3 with peak winds of 165 miles per hour. The tornado has a whopping maximum width of 600 yards.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared a state of emergency over the thunderstorms and tornadoes on Friday.
