Groom from $56 million wedding face prison sentence

LaGrone, 29, and his now-wife Brockway, 27 attained overnight stardom after their five-day luxurious wedding went viral on TikTok. The couple organized their rehearsal dinner at the Paris Opera House, spent a night at the Palace of Versailles, and held a private Maroon 5 concert at their wedding reception.

The complete event is popularly called the $56 million wedding but some of the professionals believe it could have easily cost as much as $60 million. However, following this fantasy ceremony, the couple is facing major problems including a prison sentence.

Around eight months before the wedding, the groom was indicted on three counts of aggravated assault on a public servant in Texas as per the Washington Post. He recently attended the hearing of his charges at the Tarrant County Courthouse in Fort Worth.

The alleged incident occurred on March 14 2023 when the Westworth Village officials responded to several calls of disturbance. As per the reports the police were ‘fired upon’ their arrival and threatened with bodily harm by LaGrone. He was also holding a firearm and was allegedly in complete sense of his actions.

In Texas, any offense against police officials that results in serious injury can be punished by five to 99 years of imprisonment. After the alleged incident LaGrone was arrested and released on a $20,000 bond. Currently, he has received a plea bargain deal of 25 years in prison.

Netizens react

Netizens are shocked to learn about the ongoing criminal case against the groom of the fairytale wedding. Many of the social media users had vicariously enjoyed Madelaine Brockway and Jacob LaGrone’s ceremonies which appeared nothing less than a live-action Disney film.

They also felt shocked to learn about the criminal charges as it is hard to imagine why would someone spend so much money amid the case. Additionally, Brockway didn’t have any internet presence before the wedding so people gladly enjoyed and interacted with her posts unaware of her husband’s charges.

They also found out that her father is Robert “Bob” Brockway, the chairman and CEO of Bill Ussery Motors. As for LaGrone, his only hint was his LinkedIn profile which stated that his last work was as a production assistant for country music singer Jason Aldean in 2018.

The couple hasn’t commented on the controversy but Broackway has reportedly deleted her TikTok account and made her Instagram account private.
