One Piece Chapter 1087 spoilers have finally surfaced. It has been almost a month since One Piece went on a short hiatus due to Oda’s eye surgery. Now that he is back in action again, we got to see one of the most shocking encounters in the entire series in the recently unveiled spoilers. Is Monkey D. Garp about to die? Let’s find out.
Is Garp About to Die?
Chapter 1087 takes us back to the events at Hachinousu, aka Pirate Island, the home base of Blackbeard. A few chapters ago we saw Garp making it to Hachinosu to rescue Coby where it was also revealed that Kazan had joined the Blackbeard Pirates as a commander. Soon after that, we got a glimpse of Garp’s power when he used his Glaxy Impact to nearly split the Island.
- According to the spoilers, Garp is now going toe-to-toe with Kuzan, his former pupil accompanied by the Blackbeard Pirates. However, Garp is injured by Shiryu while he tries to defend Coby from the latter.
- At the end of the chapter, the Marine Hero is seen to be lying on the ground. He utters these words to Coby: “Koby, don’t panic… Justice will prevail!!!”
The Rise of Blackbeard
The above-mentioned events have made many veteran fans nervous. Blackbeard has been rising in both power and influence at an astronomical rate ever since his introduction. Over the recent few chapters, he’s been feuding with some of the strongest pirates in the Grand Line and even triumphing over them. With all that considered, many fans view this incident as a death flag for Garp.
It is no secret that the Legends from the old era are no longer at their prime. Garp, Sengoku, and Rayleigh have all acknowledged this drawback multiple times. Blackbeard has been a strategic pirate who takes only the fights that he can win from the beginning. If this is his method of wiping out all competition, it just goes to say what kind of conviction he has toward his goals.
Impact across the Grandline
- If Garp were to die, especially at the hands of Blackbeard’s crew, it ought to send cataclysmic shockwaves all across the Grand Line, Red Line, and even the Four Seas.
- So far, no matter how out of shape the legends of the past were, no Pirate, Marine, or Revolutionary has managed to even put a scratch on them.
If this were to happen for the first time in known One Piece history, obviously the bounties of both Blackbeard and the potential killer would dramatically increase, provided the Government or Imu doesn’t pull any strings. On the other hand, there is Luffy who already lost a family member to Blackbeard. If he finds out that Blackbeard had caused the death of another one of his family members, to say that Luffy would go to war would be a massive understatement.
Conclusion
Still, all these are speculations based on the leaked spoilers so far. Given that there haven’t been additional reveals so far, the perception of this ordeal might change with a little bit of perspective and context. And of course, Oda is notorious for his infamous fake deaths, so one can never be too sure.
