Boruto begins Code Arc: New Key Visual + what is it about?

The recent hype of the Anime Community seems to be the ongoing adaptation of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. After the anime adapted Sasuke Retsuden light novel as a drift of from the regular stunt, fans have awaited this story. So, what is the Code Arc about?

But the history of fans longing for Code Arc goes beyond Sasuke Retsuden. Jump Festa 2023 announced the news of Boruto adapting Sasuke Retsuden into Anime. This naturally meant that the anime would take a certain detour before getting into the Code Arc.

What is Boruto Code Arc going to be about?

  • Prior to the first episode of the highly anticipated new arc, Viz Media ramped up excitement by releasing a new key visual via their official Twitter account.
  • The excitement surrounding episode 287 of “Boruto” is warranted as the anime is finally returning to its manga source material after over a year.

During that time, the anime has produced original content such as the Labyrinth Game arc. Along with, of course, the adaptation of the Sasuke Retsuden light novel.

The Code arc will introduce a new character named Eida, who is a cyborg created by Amado. It is expected that she will make her debut in the first episode of the new arc

What did the Key Visual let on to about the Boruto Code Arc tho?

The latest poster features Kawaki, Eida, Boruto, and an intriguing object that seems to be a claw. It may belong to the primary antagonist of the Code arc.

The new visual displays a solemn and determined Kawaki, while a visibly disturbed Boruto holds a kunai weapon. Eida, situated at the center of the poster, maintains a stoic expression with her striking blue hair as the backdrop.

How ominous is the threat of Code?

The Code arc will kick off with the emergence of Code, the last surviving member of Inner Kara, who aims to avenge Isshiki and attain celestial status. He will target Boruto and Kawaki to grow the God Tree and harvest its Chakra fruit.

Code will be joined by two cyborgs, Eida and Daemon, who have been developed by Amado and possess shinjutsu abilities derived from Shibai’s remains.

Concluding

  • The outcome of these events is yet to be determined, and it is unlikely that the anime will adapt the entire Code arc in one go. It will probably include some filler episodes to allow more time for the manga to advance.
  • The Code arc officially begins with the release of Boruto episode 287 on February 12, 2023. The latest installment wastes no time in establishing Code as the next ominous threat to Konoha.

Code, the final active member of Kara, arrives with a clear objective in mind – to pursue Boruto and Kawaki. However, it appears that he must first make some necessary arrangements before he can reach them.
