A Shaggy and Iron Giant crossover is probably a video game team-up you never thought you would see in your lifetime. But, Warner Bros. and Player First Games are putting your dreams to reality with their newest title, “MultiVersus”.
Come July 19, 2022, the game will be available for early access in the open beta stage for players who took part during the closed alpha. Those who were not able to participate in the closed alpha stage still have a chance by redeeming codes from various Twitch streams. However, MultiVersus will be officially opening its beta stage to everyone on July 26 (a.m. PDT).
MultiVersus is a free-to-play platform fighting game created by Warner Bros. and Player First Games.
If you are wondering what the game looks like, it has a similar approach to Nintendo’s Smash Bros. series and Nickelodeon’s All-Star brawl. Similar to the games mentioned, MultiVersus will also feature a pool of playable characters from the Warner Bros. universe.
Characters such as Iron Giant (Iron Giant movie), Arya Stark (Game of Thrones), Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo), Batman and Superman (DC), Jake the Dog and Finn the Human (Adventure Time), Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil (Looney Tunes), Tom and Jerry (Tom and Jerry), plus the arrival of the MultiVersus original character, Reindog.
In addition, MultiVersus will also feature 8 breathtaking maps from popular shows like Scooby Doo’s Haunted Mansion, Adventure Time’s Tree Fort, Batman’s Batcave, and Trophy’s Edge (1 and 2).
Furthermore, the game has various in-game modes to satisfy all of your needs. Team up via the 2 vs. 2 team-based co-op mode, test your skills in 1 vs. 1 matches or go on a rampage in a 4-player free-for-all battle. Aside from that, you can also practice honing your fighting skills via local matches, AI battles, custom online lobbies, or in the practice mode (The Lab).
MultiVersus open beta will be available for free on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. The good news is, that the game will also support cross-play and cross-progression support across all of the mentioned platforms. To add, they also announced that any progress the players made in the beta stage will be carried over to the official release. To learn more about MultiVersus, head on to their FAQ webpage here.
